HISTORY

M. VER, Missão Vida e Esperança Restaurada  in English Mission Life and Hope Restored, was founded on the 14th of September 2000 by a missionary couple, Izaias and Ruth Clark Daniel de Assis. They proposed to develop a work in partnership with churches and communities aiming at the fulfilment of integral mission. The initial work started in Jardim Vitória, Belo Horizonte with the revitalization of a crèche named ‘Prince of Peace’ which developed to become the ‘Fount of Living Water Educational Centre’ in January 2003. The primary school grew very quickly and in January 2006 the name was again changed to ‘Christian College Life and Hope Restored’ in order to expand in the future to Secondary school.

In January 2001 the Football Project was started with about 40 children and adolescents from 8-15 yrs that functions in an informal area in the community.

In January 2002, CETRAM, a missionary training course was set up aimed at people from the local churches and other communities. The object of the course is to teach basic missiology to arouse people’s awareness of mission and enable them to work effectively in their churches.

In April 2002 the Chicken Project was started with 503 chicks brought up in appropriate surroundings, with the aim of improving the children’s diet and also raising some funds. All of them were sold by November 2002.

In March 2003 English and Computer lessons were started for the workers of M.VER and also for local residents of Jardim Vitoria who were pleased for the opportunity to improve their education.
In June 2003 Ballet lessons were started with 20 girls between 4 and 14yrs, bringing dance as a social and cultural activity, improving their self worth, developing their potential and guaranteeing some leisure activity.

In March 2004 M.VER took under it´s wing a crèche called CICEC in the district of Santa Monica, Belo Horizonte. Suely a volunteer worker set up the Sponsorship Program. All the children at  CICEC crèche and CEFAV school (now called CCVER) and their families were visited and photographed and cards about the children were taken to England to raise sponsors. Until 2006 M.Ver has provided sixty one children with English sponsors and three children with Brasilian sponsors.

In July 2005 “Acts of Mission” was launched with it’s first trip to Ceará, Brazil.

M.VER’s hearts desire is to see as many people as possible brought to Christ and have their lives changed and restored. Together with this desire, is the need to see more young people from local churches who already know Christ, being challenged to give more of their time to God.  With the purchase of our first bus M.VER has been able to branch out in this missionry vision to “go out into all the world.” Twice a year bus takes fifty young people from all different churches to go and spread the gospel in different parts of Brazil where there are little or no churches.

In 2008 the Football Project developed and transfered to our new sports hall built on the premises of  CCVER school.
The new coach, Marlon, divided the boys into two groups of 6- 9 yrs and  10-12 yrs.
Project Arts also started in August of 2008 by one of the mums that learnt some courses with M.VER and developed her own skills. Today she is teaching families in the district of Jardim vitória courses on painting on fabric, wood, embroidery and cooking.
